LONDON VISIT

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Sunday was one of our regular London trips.  We went with Wendy and Kevin, the idea of the day is show them some of the sights. We started early with a train from Arundel to Victoria  a quick tube journey found us at Mansion House, this was followed by a short walk and we were on the millennium bridge our 1st stop.

Once across it was time  for  the Globe theatre and Tate Modern based in the old Power Station, we spent a couple of hours  looking and listening and taking in all the surroundings. It certainly shows how diverse  art can be.

From the Tate Modern we walked back over the bridge to St Pauls Cathedral, we looked around Wrens amazing Building.  This was followed by a walk to Covent Garden via the Old Bailey. We spent some time & money at Covent Garden looking at the Market and watching the street performers.

By this time food was on our mind, so a quick Sunday lunch and pint at the Salisbury was called for. After food  we made our way to Leicester Square & Piccadilly Circus  and on to St James Park

Finally a coffee at Victoria Station before catching the train back

Next trip planned for 6.12.09  to take in the lights

Have a good Week
